The Lower Madison
Starting below Ennis Reservoir and running north for approximately 35 miles to its confluence with the Missouri, the lower Madison provides both excellent wading and floating opportunities.

Current Conditions & Fishing Strategy
8/31/10 As of today the Ennis dam has sustained damage from a fallen boulder, which is going to cause fluctuation in the flows. You can call us for updates. That being said, the lower Madison is edging ever closer to fishing well again. With water temps still ranging in the mid 60's concentrating one's efforts to the early mornings/late evenings may yield better results. With that said, as the days get cooler/nights get longer, we can expect the moss to subside and the fishing to get better with each day. Using a hopper and dropping a small crayfish pattern off of it can be a deadly combination. San Juan worms, copper johns, caddis pupas will fish well.
