The Missouri River
Beginning its journey near the town of Three Forks, the Missouri is a culmination of the Gallatin, Madison, and Jefferson rivers.  While there is some trout fishing to be had along its entire course, most of the trout fishing is below Holter Dam down to the town of Cascade. The spring creek like qualities of this tail water section can make for challenging but very rewarding fishing.

Current Conditions & Fishing Strategy
03/10/10 The Missouri has been fishing well as of lately. The winds have been light as of recent, but that can change anytime. Nymphing with small tailwater nypmhs that are pink in color is a productive method. The Dry fly fishing has also picked up on the calmer days. Expect mostly midge fishing with maybe the occasional Blue Wing Olive. We have also had reports that the streamer fishing is getting good as well.
