Scientific Anglers Textured GPX Fly Line

For those of you who don’t like the feeling of the Sharkskin fly line, but still want the exceptional performance that it provides, Scientific Anglers now supplies a great choice in the Textured fly line series. The Textured fly lines still have a bit of a rough feel to them but will not burn you hands and although they still make a little noise when shooting line, they are a little quieter than their Sharkskin cousins. This particular line still offers the ever popular GPX taper which is a little heavier in the front end than a standard line weight providing a line that casts great on todays faster action fly rods. With the texture on the line, it still outperforms a standard fly line with the way that it shoots line and floats, but it is definately not as agressive as the Sharkskin.

For more information regarding the Scientific Anglers Mastery Series GPX fly line or any other fly line, please contact us at info@theriversedge.com or give us a call at 406-586-5373. We are happy to help with questions.

G.Loomis NRX Trout Fly Rods – 4 piece - New for 2011!

The folks at the G. Loomis Rod Company call the the NRX Trout Rods “lighter, yet more durable, extremely sensitive, yet stiffer,” and we agree. By using new technology now available to fly rod manufacturers which includes a new resin technology, G. Loomis has been able to make the NRX Fly Rods very light, up to 20% lighter than previous Loomis rods, sensitive, and very powerful. With just a few casts of the NRX, you’ll notice it too. These rods have a medium-fast action feel making them perfect for trout fishing, yet they are extremely powerful and make casting long distances with accuracy feel easy. With the feel of this rod and the improved durability, who wouldn’t want one! If you are looking for one trout rod to do it all, consider the G. Loomis NRX Fly Rod series and we think you’ll be very pleased.

The Company Line:

NRX is the culmination of what we have been doing at G.Loomis since day one. We have been continually striving to build the best rod on the planet. Laminates, resin, mandrels, components and the know how you expect from us. These NRX rods look like nothing we have built before. They feel better than anything we have built before. We aren’t talking about a little better here or a little lighter there…

What we are saying so there is no confusion… ” This is the Best Fly Rod Ever Built!” Period!!

9′ 4wt:

An incredible 4-weight rod for fishing larger streams and stillwaters with dry flies, nymphs or small streamers. The 9-foot length, along with the unbelievable light weight gives you casting range and line control that is almost unheard of. It is surprisingly powerful, able to punch out 60′+ casts, it will fish tippets as light as 6X no problem. When you have to do down to whisper-thin tippets to be successful, this rod will handle it and when you want an ultra-light challenge for oversized bluegill or crappie, it makes an excellent choice thanks to that NRX sensitivity!
