Simms G4 Pro Wader

Following in the footsteps of the Simms G4Z Wader, the Simms G4 Pro Wader is virtually the same wader with the exception of a few of the bells and whistles of its big brother.
Simms G4 Pro Waders us the same GoreTex Technology as found in the G4Z with 5-Layer GoreTex Pro Shell material on the lower half of the wader and 3-Layer GoreTex Pro Shell material on the upper for more breathability and freedom of motion. You will see the same coverage of the 5-Layer material on this wader as it encapsulates each leg and rises around the buttocks and to the waist in the front of the wader. This again is for extreme protection and durability of the lower half of the wader. The Simms G4 Pro also uses the 5mm neoprene articulated feet, built-in gravel guards, patented front seam technonlogy on the legs and articulated knees and buttocks found on the G4Z. Most of the noticeable differences between the G4 Pro and the G4Z are on the upper half of the wader.
First, you will notice the lack of the RiRi Zipper found on the G4Z. By doing this, the biggest bonus of this wader is that Simms was able to drop the price of the G4 Pro by $170.00. Also missing is the adjustable belt loops (although there are thermo-laminated fixed belt loops around the entire waist), neoprene belt, and padded shoulder strap system found on the G4Z. Perhaps a better description of this wader would be a Simms G3 Wader on steroids. By eliminating the Zipper, Simms was also able to go back to the full front pocket with a zippered pass through hand warmer pocket (important if you have ever rowed a boat with open pocketed waders pulled all the way up as the oars catch the edges of your pockets constantly ) and additional thermo-laminated full front pocket with a forceps docking tab for additional storage. There is also an internal flip-out Tippet Tender pocket that features a built in retractor and storage space for tippet and leaders or keys and a wallet.
On the Simms G4 Pro Wader, Simms went back to the simple adjustable shoulder strap system they use on many of their other waders in order to allow the user to easily roll down these waders and wear them at your waist. The ends of the shoulder straps are opposing so you can roll your waders down and use the shoulder straps as a sort of waist belt and clip them together. Many guides and fishermen prefer this method of wearing waders as it allows you to stay cooler on hot days when a full length wader is not necessary.
The fit story of the G4 Pro is again the same as the G4Z as this wader is offered in 20 different sizes and is also available for use in the custom shop program. One popular addition to the Simms G4 Pro wader for men looking to add the relief ability to this wader would be the Relief Zipper option where a small waterproof horizontal zipper is placed at the appropriate height allowing them to use the restroom without removing the waders.
Why buy this wader over others? Similar to the Simms G4 Z, the Simms G4 Pro wader is probably not the best wader for an angler who like to hike long distances before fishing or fishes mostly in warmer dry weather. This wader will excel for the angler who bushwacks to get to their secret spot, who fishes in cooler nasty weather and can’t afford to have leaky waders, who fishes enough days a year that other less durable waders just won’t cut it, or for any angler who wants a very comfortable pair of waders and wants the peace of mind to know that they are protected by the most durable waders on the market.
