Simms Wader – Simms G4Z Wader

The Simms G4Z wader is the most technically advanced wader built for fisherman on the market. Every feature that Simms Fishing Company could throw into the wader shows up on the Simms G4Z Wader making it the ultimate fishing wader available.
Starting with the construction, the G4Z is built with multiple layers of GoreTex Pro Shell material. For the utmost durability, the bottom portion of the wader is constructed of 5-Layer Pro Shell material that encapsulates the entire lower half of the wader fully covering each leg, the waist and buttocks areas. There are not many things that can penetrate Gore’s 5-Layer Pro Shell material which makes the G4Z the most durable wader in the Simms line. With so much coverage of the 5-layer material, there will be some loss of breathability on the lower portions of the wader which is why Simms went to a lighter weight GoreTex 3-Layer Pro Shell material on the upper portions of the G4Z. This allows the wader to breathe more where you most need it, the body of the wader. In addition to that, Simms incorporates a RiRi Waterproof Zipper on the upper portion of the wader for several reasons, one being the ability to open the wader and allow your body to cool when necessary. The RiRi Waterproof Zipper also allows very easy on/off mobility, as well as doubling as a sort of relief zipper for men having to use the restroom on cold days. There have been many questions regarding the true “waterproofness” of a zipper in a wader but with this being the same Waterproof Zipper used in high end Dry Suits for Divers, we can assure you that it works and will keep you dry.
From the bottom up, the Simms G4Z waders use the Simms articulated 5mm right and left neoprene feet and built-in gravel guards as are used on all Simms G-series waders. The feet are specifically designed by Simms not to have seams on the bottom of the foot and in particular the heel area where many neoprene feet fail. This same seam idea was carried on to other prone areas for leakage in waders which brings us to the patented front seam technology that Simms uses in their G4Z. By moving the seam for the legs of the waders to the front of the knee rather that at the side like most waders, Simms was able to create a very durable articulated knee that now sees very little failure. For comfort, the Simms G4Z incorporates both a fully adjustable neoprene belt with adjustable belt loops as well as a padded adjustable shoulder strap. Both of these features are exclusive to the Simms G4Z. Zippered front hand warmer pockets as well as a docking station finish off the front of the wader.
Fit is a very important component of any high end wader and the Simms G4Z, similar to all the Simms G-Series Waders, has the fit thing nailed. From articulated left and right feet to keep the material in the foot area to a minimum to articulated knees and buttocks areas, the G4Z wader is sure to feel like your favorite pair of Jeans when fitted properly. With over 17 different combinations of body and foot sizes and the option of a completely custom built wader, this Simms Wader will fit just about anyone. Also available is the custom shop option where you can add multiple other features to the wader or take advantage of the most popular custom shop option, the addition of a bootfoot to this or any Simms Wader.
Specific Use: The Simms G4 Z wader is the perfect wader for an angler looking for the ultimate in durability and comfort. This is the perfect wader to take to Alaska for your week-long adventure where you can’t afford to have your waders spring a leak, take Steelheading in Idaho or British Columbia where the weather and conditions can be extreme, or use in Montana if you like to fish places where others don’t. I would not recommend these waders for the person who hikes 10 miles a day fishing in Yellowstone National Park, or who likes to hike exclusively up to high mountain lakes. There is probably a better more breathable wader for the extreme hiking angler.
