upper madison fishing report

852 CFS @ Kirby - The dry fly fishing has been hit or miss on the Upper Madison, but with this warmer weather we expect to see caddis and march browns starting to pop off. Nymphing has been hot with smaller bugs such as pheasant tails, midges and caddis pupa. Fish are active and consistently chasing darker flashy streamers as well.

897 CFS @ Kirby - The Upper Madison River has been fishing quite well recently. While the dry-fly action can bit hit-or-miss depending on the temperatures. With the warmer weather approaching, keep your eyes out for caddis. That being said, the nymphing has been extremely productive. We're hearing that the nymph game has been a small one, though. Keep the Rubber Legs in your box and opt for something on the tinier side. Think sizes 14 and 16 in something flashy.

976 CFS @ Kirby - The Upper Madison is fishing well at the moment. Clarity if very good at the moment. Caddis seem to be showing up in the lower stretches but overall, nymphing has still been most productive. The cooler weather this weekend could slow things up but as things warm back up, look for the Caddis to come out in bigger numbers.
