    Yellowstone River

    Saturday, April 24, 2021

    April 24, 2021

1870 CFS @ Corwin - The Yellowstone River has a bit of color in it this morning but the flows have only risen a small amount. The fishing has been decent over there the last few days. If or when the weather straightens out, look for the fishing to pick up as well. Baetis and midges are around in good numbers with fish found rising in the foam pockets and back-eddies along the banks, especially on cloudy days. As the weather starts to warm up, look for the river to keep rising. Nymph fishing has been most productive and streamer fishing has been picking up as well.

    Recommended Flies:

    Girdle Bugger Camo #10
    Mighty May Baetis #16
    Master Baetis #16
    SH Hare's Ear #16
    Parachute Adams #16

1220 CFS@ Livingston- Still needs some time out this way for the ice to clear up. That being said walk wading can be fun with the low winter flows up towards Gardiner with more open water. With this temps warming we will see that classic green tint on the Stone, so go flashy with your bugs. Nymphing is still going to be most productive right now.
