We're fortunate to call Southwest Montana our home. Here in Bozeman, we are surrounded by dozens of the best trout fisheries in the world, and picking just one to fish is nearly impossible.
For our Montana Guided Fly Fishing Trips, we've selected only the best to offer you. Below you will find the rivers and other waters on which we guide.
Located just a short drive from either of our River's Edge locations, the Madison River is home to some of the best trout fishing found anywhere.
Divided into two very different stretches, the Upper and Lower, the Madison offers both floating and wading anglers great trout fishing opportunities in a unique scenic environment. Let the River's Edge show you all that the legendary Madison River has to offer.
Although it is sometimes overshadowed by our bigger rivers, the Gallatin River is close to Bozeman and offers anglers the chance to fish a wild freestone river in an outstanding setting. Known mostly for its abundant wading opportunities, the Gallatin River is one of the more unheralded gems in the Treasure State.
Yellowstone River Guided Fly Fishing trips are our most popular guided trip at The River's Edge, and for good reason: we know it well and we love sharing Yellowstone River fly fishing with anglers from all over the world.
The Yellowstone River is the longest free flowing river in the continental United States, and it starts basically in our backyard.
If you're looking for more of a destination guide trip or want to explore some of Southwest Montana's incredible private Spring Creek fishing, we have options for you. Fly fishing the Paradise Valley Spring Creeks can be a life-changing experience, take it from us.
The Big Hole river, located southwest of Butte, Montana, offers some fantastic fly fishing for trout and it's one of the few places in the Lower 4 to catch a grayling, a brown trout and a rainbow trout all in the same day
Known as perhaps the ultimate Montana tailwater, the Missouri River below Holter dam is located two hours north of Bozeman and is one of the most prolific trout fisheries found anywhere. While we don't head there often, we do know the river and are happy to discuss setting up a guided fly fishing trip on the Missouri River.
Paradise Valley Spring Creeks
We offer guided fishing trips on three of the most famous spring creeks found anywhere. Depuy's Spring Creek, Armstrong's Spring Creek and Nelson's Spring Creek are all located just south of Livingston Montana in the majestic Paradise Valley along the banks of the Yellowstone River. Challenging fish, prolific hatches and consistent stream flows and water temperatures make all three of these creeks great year round options for the angler looking for the ultimate spring creek fishing experience. Recent stream restorations along with a very limited number of anglers make each of the Paradise Valley Spring Creeks a must for any serious spring creek aficionado looking for the ultimate challenge. All three creeks have limited rod availability, so advanced bookings are recommended. Rod fees vary
Private Lake Fishing
If catching very large trout and at times a lot of them interests you, then our selection of private lakes and ponds may be just what you're after. If you have never experienced the thrill of fishing one of our private lakes and the opportunity of catching some of the largest fish the area has to offer, then one of our still water trips is something you should seriously consider. Ask us about options and availability. Rod fees vary
We often have more options for private water available that are not listed above. Please contact us for more opportunities.
