The Story:
Learn more about the conservation efforts on The River's Edge Blog.
This past Spring, historic flooding damaged our home fishery. In response, Montana Freshwater Partners, a local non-profit organization based in Livingston, Montana, has established the Yellowstone River Stewardship Campaign to support projects directly benefitting recovery of the Yellowstone River fishery. The Yellowstone River Stewardship campaign was developed as a way to engage the community, out of state visitors, and business to give back to projects that support the overall health and vitality of the Yellowstone River, from its source in YNP to its confluence with the Missouri River in North Dakota.
All proceeds from this campaign will be invested in conservation and restoration projects that will improve water quality, fish habitat, late season flows and floodplain connectivity, and address recreational pressures. The campaign has been established through Montana Freshwater Partners, a 501c3 non-profit organization based in Livingston, Montana. All funding from the Yellowstone River Stewardship Campaign will be directed to projects protecting the health and resiliency of the Yellowstone River. The focus area of the campaign’s efforts will be on the waters upstream from Springdale to Yellowstone National Park as well as the Shields River.
